Description: Large (nearly 20” tall) vintage to antique African carving. Carved from one solid piece of wood. I believe it represents the queen mother. Often depicted by the Benin tribe in bronze. Although this may have been intended for the tourist market I believe it has some age to it. I believe it’s likely 40-70 years old or so. I just purchased it out of an old collection. I bought quite a few nice older African items. Many of them I believe were for tribal use rather than the tourist market. This piece is in excellent condition overall. There is one small area of loss to the original patina above and on one of the ears. Otherwise the carving is in original condition. Ships ASAP! Thanks Weighs 6lbs 12oz
