Antique Canton Famille Rose Chinese Porcelain Meat Platter 14.5" Made in China

Description: DESCRIPTION: A Very Beautiful Antique Canton Famille Rose Hand-Painted Porcelain Meat Platter. This Platter was made in China, so is an early one. This Platter has grooves in the porcelain to direct the juices, and two feet to tilt it so that juices are collected. Decorated with Shou Longevity Symbols, Bats for Good Fortune, Good Luck, and Butterflies for Long Life, Beauty and Elegance. Pink Roses (Famille Rose), other flowers, and fruit embellish the hand painted surface. This is a beautiful masterpiece that can be used, Displayed, and Enjoyed! Marked with Red Stamp "Made in China" in oval- seen in Gotheborg Reference section: "Marks on later Chinese Porcelain": In 1920 all Chinese Import Porcelain was required to be marked "China" by U.S. Stamp Act of 1894. We see a similarly stamped (oval red 'Made in China' Stamp) Rose Mandarin Anniversary Plate marked 1936 in Gotheborg examples. This stamp date likely ranges 1920-1940. We also know that much of the Canton Famille Rose you find online is much Newer- having been painted in Hong Kong and bearing marks that date 1960's- late 20th Century. It is very special to find a nice Antique piece! CAUTION: Because platter is hand-painted and Antique I would advise not cutting meat on it, but using a cutting board first, then using platter as a serving piece. Do not wash in dishwasher. Hand washing is safer with hand-painted and gilded antique porcelain. SIZE: 14.5" long X 11.25" wide, X ~ 2.5: deep/tall. WEIGHT: 2 pounds 15.5 ounce before packing CONDITION: Overall in Very Good Used Antique Condition. I found one small flat rim scrape- not what I would call a chip- see last photo #16. This could be easily touched up IMHO. Some light wear to paint, as expected with age and use. No cracks noted. Please use photos to help determine appearance and condition, and zoom in as needed.
