Antique C. Parker Co. No. 20 Anvil Vise,Pat. 5/28,11/26,12-10 & 17,1867,W/ISSUES

Description: For sale is small rare to find, antique Parker vise, weighing 7lbs. 11.1 oz. in its current state. Signed in raised letters "C. Parke Co. Meriden Ct" on one side, with the "R" missing, and "Pat. May 28 Nov 26 Dec 10 17 1867 No. 20" on the other side, it has 2-1/4" wide jaws, and a 2-3/8" capacity, with none of its original finish remaining, as pictured. The issues are as follows:{1} It is missing its 3-3/4" diameter base, and has tapped holes for machine screws expertly drilled by a previous owner to make it a fixed bench vise, measuring 4-5/8" tall{pictures 16-18}{2} There is a 1-1/2" long X 7/8" tall piece broken out of the end of the slide, as shown in the both the sixth & last pictures{3} It is missing either and /or a retaining collar where the handle fits into the dynamic jaw, as shown in the 13th and 19th pictures, or a missing retaining pin, or washer on the main drive screw as well{??} The vise will close, but WILL NOT RETRACT WITHOUT BEING MOVED MANUALLY{4} The main handle with brass ball ends is somewhat bent, but passes through easily, and is not a problem{5} The letter "R" is missing from the name "PARKER", as shown in the 10th & 11th pictures{6} It shows heavy use and wear on the sides of the dynamic jaw, as well as on the top of the slide, all as pictured Please view all of the pictures to determine condition for yourself.>>>>>>SOLD AS FOUND, AS IS, AND FOR PARTS, REPAIR OR RESTORATION ONLY!!<<<<
