Description: Beautiful Victorian wall rack for documents, periodicals, and magazines. Carved in the German Black Forest style and probably dates circa 1880. Drop down front panel lined in deep red velvet. To be hung from wall -- old string serves as hanger. Piece shows some condition issues, which are not usually noticeable when piece is hanging and in use. Condition issues were considered in setting the requested price. Hallmarks: None. Dimensions: 16” High x 13” Wide x 1.25” Deep when closed / 7” Deep at top of front panel when open. Front panel 13” x 8.75. Chains limit width of inserts if greater than 7” high and 10” wide. Condition: Decent condition, with obvious issues commiserate with age and use. Particularly mentionable issues (see last 5 photos): old break at center top. Faded velvet commiserate with age & use. Old repair as seen on photos of back. Wood split lower right (best seen from back where it appears on left). Scuffs from use. Unpacked weight: 2 lbs.
