Description: A fine quality early 20th Century lacquered brass jug-handled antique compound microscope by Carl Zeiss. The company's production books have this instrument - serial number 44840 - listed as being made in March 1907 and it survives in remarkable condition. The brass retains its original protective lacquer with barely a blemish. All controls are working correctly including coarse and fine focusing adjustment. There are four eyepieces and three objectives, the latter being all by Zeiss and complete with their original brass cannisters. The substage condenser is present. Working height approximately 40cm. Case somewhat faded and with a couple of water marks. Original lock and key. OFFERS: If considering making an offer please bear in mind that while eBay has now removed all charges for private sellers, its charges for business sellers continue to rise. For me, these currently stand at around 24%, making eBay by far the most expensive of the three platforms that I currently sell on. If you do make an offer, please do not be offended if it is rejected. I strive to offer only the best quality items at the most competitive prices that I can. Overseas buyers are welcome, import charges may apply. This item will be carefully packed and promptly dispatched.
