Description: Very nice antique blue & white stoneware bail-handled butter cruck with in in great all original patina & condition. This is a very nice example, the colors are very pleasing and the bail handle is in great condition. The lid fits quite snuggly on the base.The lid id embossed with circular design, the base is embossed with "BUTTER" and a fruit motif, perhaps cherries. The condition is extremely nice, there are no cracks or chips. There maybe a few very tiny sports of glaze flakes typical of this kind of stoneware. The stoneware butter crock is about 4 1/2" high, the diameter is 6 3/4". With the bail up, it is about 7" high.
