Description: The Up for consideration is a fine old Antique Grand Rapids Golden Oak era Quarter Cut Oak coat hooked hanging entrance way mirror. It dates from about 1895 or so and is in great condition. It measures 37 inches wide by about 25 inches in height. Each hook is super wide and is split with two hooks per assembly. It sports it's original beveled mirror and wood paneled back...you rarely see original wooden backs as they are usually papered taped up or replaced...the hooks are great also. They have the two toned "Japanned" coloration that you see on the strappings of stacking bookcases. The mirror has some light issues with deterioration of the silvering on back. It is bevelled ...please note the reflection in the mirror is a crack in the cement. The finish is the original fumed oak varnish which has not been touched. This is a great feature as when they get refinished they lose all their charm. Lastly the form is rather pleasing it has a stepped design which adds to appeal yet does not complicate the overall simplicity. Please also note the hooks are all original and large ...the outside hook actually extends out past the edge of the mirror which is handy because this was made to be used w heavy winter coats or hats! Lastly it is meant to be used today no project status while it sits in the garage or work area...If you have any questions or something to share please message me. Please see photos as part of the description. Buyer pays shipping. Please note hooks will be removed for safe delivery. Best Regards, JohnnyJohnnyCrystal Est. 1987
