Description: Swiss made Peseux 10, 15 jewels Ladies Watch Three 3ADJ in a 9ct Hantily watch case number 588322 With a fine Brown Leather Watch Band attached and the original 9ct Gold Filled Handley watchband supplied. c.1934 9ct Rose Gold Leather Band Original band supplied as well Analogue display Mechanical windup movement Wristwatch A lovely little watch in full working order however I’m sure it will need a service for reasonably accurate time keeping. I have had it running for the last 3 days and it is running a little fast so needs a little adjustment at the back which I will leave for others to do. There are five watch makers marks to the inside back indicating that it has been serviced/repaired five times in its lifetime. It is an interesting piece of Australian history. After WWI watch manufacturers exported movements only to avoid the high import duties levied on complete watches. These were then cased by local makers. In Australia, J W Handley of Melbourne was one of these making cases. So we have an imported Swiss Peseux Movement cased in an Australian made open hand Hantily case. In 1934 the trademark with the open hand Hantily was changed to Handley. This watch is being supplied with the original 9ct Gold Filled Handley watchband.
