Description: This is a lovely Art Deco Planter, in a Nautical Shape of a Boat. The bow is a Flower Frog.It is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks, and little if no paint loss.The paint is bright. The interior is a deep yellow. The exterior a cream colour with green and burgundy accents.It is hand painted and has a gloss finish.It measures approx. 8 inches long and approx. 5.5 inches at the bow and approx. 5 inches high at the bow.It has a back stamp which reads Planoit, and then incised is Austria and the numbers 0388. Also are the numbers 589 in writing under the glaze.Planoit is a town in Belgium, but I could not find the pottery that made this.Clearly in the Art Deco Style, with the colours also of the period. It came with a tag from an Antique Store that dated it 1920 and they offered it for $245. retail.
