Description: Antique American wooden commode (does not include a chamberpot). This sturdy Mission Oak commode originates from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA and shows evidence of surviving a fire at some point in history. What sets this piece apart from others is the immense amount of character it displays. All of the hardware is original and so is the stain/lacquer.. well, what's left of it, that is! Never restored - it shows burn marks/swelling from heat in the lacquer, scuffs and scratches, some hairline cracks, and the wood on the interior's bottom where the chamber pot would go has some warping. There is NO wobbling of the structure nor looseness of hardware, and the door opens and closes with ease. It is crafted of very stocky and sturdy early American hardwood. There is no chamberpot included with this commode.
