Description: Antique American Federal Mahogany Bowfront Chest Of Drawers Circa 1800 A beautiful New England Federal period mahogany bowfront chest of drawers, 1790-1810. This Hepplewhite style chest features four drawers over a shaped skirt with flared French feet. The top and skirt are finely inlaid and the drawer fronts have flame/crotch mahogany veneers, with stringing and crossbanded mahogany borders. The drawers are also cockbeaded in mahogany. Secondary wood is pine. The hardware is of the period, and the correct style for the piece, probably original, though there are other hardware holes. The finish is original and there is some distressing on the top. Two of the drawers have a small piece missing at the back. There is some chipping under the top drawer. The left back foot has some damage which we can fill at buyers request. Please view all photos. The chest is 37 1/2" high by 42" wide by 23 1/4" deep.
