Description: DESCRIPTIONEtd No.2 Original Collectible Vintage Very Rare Antique Old Brass Stove in Good Condition. Weight : 2.22 kg Approx. Size : Tope Día 10.8", height 6" This classic vintage collectible is the iconic Primus No. 2 stove that was made in India. On the side is engraved "Ajanta Model No.2 of the genuine apparatus (repeated in multiple languages)". This attractive piece is made of brass, consists of a fuel tank at the base, above which is a rising tube and the burner assembly. The three legs on the sides are used to support a ring at the top of the burner on which the vessel is placed. Some small parts of this vintage stove have been changed over the years. "The Primus stove, the first pressurized-burner kerosene (paraffin) stove, was developed in 1892 by Frans Wilhelm Lindqvist, a factory mechanic in Stockholm. The stove was based on the design of the hand-held blowtorch; Lindqvist’s patent covered the burner, which was turned upward on the stove instead of outward as on the blowtorch. The same year, Lindqvist partnered with Johan Viktor Svenson [sv] and established J.V. Svenson’s Kerosene Stove Factory for manufacturing the new stoves which were sold under the name Primus. The efficient Primus stove quickly earned a reputation as a reliable and durable stove in everyday use, and it performed especially well under adverse conditions: it was the stove of choice for Fridtjof Nansen's North Pole attempt, Roald Amundsen's South Pole expedition, and Richard Byrd’s North Pole expedition. Primus stoves also accompanied George Mallory's ill-fated expedition to Mount Everest in 1924,as well as Tenzing and Hillary's successful one in 1953." Note: There may be slight variations in size, weight and colour from the photograph and details provided. Vintage pieces may show signs of wear and tear and discolouration owing to their age. Care instructions: Wipe the piece with a dry cloth. To remove residue, use a soft cloth to wash it with water using a cleaning agent such as lemon juice and tamarind. Do not scrub vigorously or use any chemicals.
