Description: An unusual early/mid 19th century treen container, formed of a dug out log of sycamore, probably originally made to be a grain measure or a dry storage jar, but makes a wonderful primitive 'vase' for dry flowers, or just a decorative piece of its own. The condition is very good, nice patina, no signs of any woodworm at any point, some historic repairs (strips of wood inserted to remedy cracks, as pictured). (Pop can is for size reference.)
