Description: "Fabulous!" truly does describe this elegant, 1920s, embroidered silk and silk chiffon cocoon evening coat with gold lame trim and floral accents. Many of the embroidered roses in the silk fabric have gold lame threads hand stitched in between the petals. There is a large gold lame rose and leaves at the drop waist closure area in the front. The ruffled shawl collar has gold lame trim as do the enormous bat-wing sleeves. The evening coat shows an Asian influence so popular in the Art Deco era. There are yards and yards of black silk in this evening coat much of which is beautifully embroidered as well as yards of the flowing silk chiffon in the sleeves & collar. There is a single hook and eye closure at the gold lame rose. Some of my pictures show a gold hue in them. It is a reflection of the lame with the camera flash on. The others do not have the flash on. The size is generous because of the cut. This will fit a lady's size small 4-6 comfortably. I might forgive up to a size 8 left open. The condition of this piece is absolutely amazing. I doubt it was worn more than once, if that. Please see the condition report above. From the back of the neck to the hem it measures 52".
