Description: For sale is a saucer set made by KPM in the late 18th century . KPM used no painters mark like the red orb yet during this period thus you only have the blue scepter and impressed marks most of the time. The piece is hand painted very nicely with a scene in polychrome including what looks to be an early version of a raising bridge operated by a little boat with two people ready to cross it and another on the shore fishing all in a landscape surrounding. Super gold and blue trim to the edge. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.125 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as some kind of impressed marks on the footring that looks like two lines which is a size indicator they used in the late 18th century. The saucer displays nicely but has a large chunk on the rim reglued as shown. Almost all there and a clean break except for a tiny piece at the outside edge. Would be an easy fix for a good restorer! I do have the matching cup but since the saucer was broken I am selling that separately.
