Description: Nice original 1857 2 volume set of, "American Eloquence: A Collection of Speeches and Addresses, By the Most Eminent Orators of America; With Biographical Sketches and Illustrative Notes; In Two Volumes." The books are overall in very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. The covers have some scuffing, rubbing & mild wear. The bindings are good and sound. The interiors are lightly toned from age with some scattered foxing. Along with that, there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection, such as a creased page corner, minor stain, light bit of soiling or grubbiness, small chip or tear, etc. Generally though, it's a nice set. The books measure approximately 10 1/8 inches by 6 3/4 inches and are illustrated with some nice steel engraved portraits. Volume 1 is 576 pages long and Volume 2 is 614.
