Description: A map of Denmark by the cartographer and printer Willem Jansz Blaeu. This is a highly decorative map with hand coloured coats of arms a decorative cartouche flanked by Hercules type figures; the calligraphy is beautiful and the ships in the seas are very romantic. The map measures 42.5 cm by 52 cm. It comes from the book 'Merian's New Archontologica Cosmica' the printing of which can be seen on the reverse of the map.
