Description: Animal Pictures: Twenty Piano Pieces is a charming set of pieces, each of which musically depicts an animal or animals (see my photo of the table of contents). Several of the pieces depict various animals involved in specific situations. Written within a charming quasi impressionistic style, famed composer and conductor Rudolpf Ganz has stated that he composed these pieces “For children who want to grow up and grown-ups who still can be young.” This is a rare, difficult to find composition from 1932--especially rare in the present case as it is in like new, perfectly preserved condition (with the exception of a small spot on the cover. A couple of the pieces feature unusual notational layouts (see photo).
