Please view and inspect all the photos. The riddle is that to open the snuffbox, you need to squeeze the edges on both sides, and the lid will open. To close it, you just need to press on the lid. The lid mechanism works as it should. No gaps between the lid and the body. The hinge and latch are tight - no play/backlash. Not monogrammed. Hallmarked inside on the hinge: "A. Barrett & Sons 63&64 Piccadilly. W" for makers and their location in London. Hallmarked inside the lid: "A B & S" into figural punch for Andrew Barrett and Sons; "Lion Passant" for British sterling silver; date letter "b" for 1901 Body marked inside with: "A B & S" "Anchor" for city of Birmingham; "Lion Passant" and "b" All marks are crisp and clear.
