Description: This is a vintage antique farm or ranch tool. This is an antique stay applier tool for making fences in place. Tool is shown in Smith & Smiths book at No. 805-T. This clamps the Tee Plate sheet metal stay to the horizontal fence lines, and vertical metal stay. Tool is 27-1/4" in length and is missing wood from handle grips. It is not maker marked. I had an advertisement for this tool from the 1895 Omaha Exposition from the Anchor Fence Company. There are no off odors. Other than the wood grips, tool is in good used condition.
