Description: An interesting Shelley Late Foley "Animals" Nursery Ware Mug. C.1910. Transfer printed nursery ware mug depicting an elephant, a tiger, a bear and a hare. Gilt trim. White ground. The back stamp is the 1910-1916 green cartouche mark. Dimensions: diameter of mug base 65mm (2.5 inches) / diameter across top of mug 68mm (2.7 inches) / height of mug 72mm (2.8 inches). Condition: In very good clean condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. Some light rubbing to the gilding around the top rim. Underglaze purple mark to interior. The mug has a very good "ping" to it when lightly tapped.
