Description: Description: XL USA AMERICAN FLAG / EAGLE PRIMITIVE STYLE / VINTAGE PATRIOTIC DRUM SCULPTURE. It has the American Eagle (Great seal of USA) with shield on its chest, holding arrows and olive branch. Although it looks like wood, It is actually sculpted out of Vanathane. So it is very light. Every detail has been carved out, and painted by hand. This was made by Vanguard Studios circa1970 (company was in business from 1967 - 1972). Here is a information found on the web: Vanguard Studio was a commercial artist studio in Los Angeles, California started in the 1960's that employed about 50 artists to create paintings and wall art.The Studio was also a production company that made props for movies and plays. The molds were destroyed after making a limited number of pieces. It is made of solid core Vanathane, which is similar to Styrofoam, but used explicitly for sculptures. I believe it was designed to be hung in an important setting such as courthouse, school or library. The dimensions are: 27" wide, 21" tall, and 6.5" deep. This is a rare, beautifully crafted Americana. Condition is very good ~ Note some minor damage at bottom (last couple of picture)This in on bottom so when hanging infraction is hard to see. As shown.
