Description: For sale is a classic, clean, highly sought after vintage AKG C414 EB multi-pattern condenser - with the one-and-only Brass CK12 capsule! I have a few of these, and they are hard to part with. But, it's time to let another one go. This mic is the most desirable in the 414 line, dating back to the 1970s. The mic has the unmistakable vintage AKG sound, with a really balanced sound and a silky/sizzling top end. This 414 will sound excellent on anything you throw at it: acoustic instruments, drums, vocals, acoustic instruments, guitar cabs, horns, you name it. While many variations of the 414 exist, none are as sweet sounding on so many sources as the one with the brass CK12 capsule - the same as found in the legendary AKG C12 tube microphone. These capsules have not been made for many decades, and starting some time in the late 70's/early 80's, AKG began producing the 414 with a nylon capsule - which are significantly less valuable, though more consistent in tone, than the originals with the Brass CK12. It is in very good to excellent condition (with no scratches, a little patina, two tiny nicks on the the body and only a slight indentation on the front grille that's not really noticeable) and in perfect working order. It has been kept in a humidity-controlled, smoke-free location since its last owner had it in their collection. It is ready to be back recording again. Comes with an AKG H85 mic mount (with suspension bands) and a 414 AKG case.
