Description: I bought this beautiful Penta along with three other Aires cameras in 2015. I had them all CLA'd by the late Clarence Gass of Gass Camera in KS. All four cameras worked great. I shot a bunch of Tri-X with them, but then moved on to something else and put them away. This summer, I worked in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. I took two Aires with me - this and the Viscount I have for sale on Ebay. This one developed some sort of a problem somehwere before I could use it. I've played with it a bit and can't really figure it out. Basically, everything works fine if aperture is set to 2.8. But if I set aperture above 2.8, the little door in front of the film plane doesn't fully open. At the highest f settings, the door doesn't open at all. But then when I move the aperture ring, things seem to reset. I never had this problem back when I bought it. It may be that I've got something set wrong. Anyhow, it's a really beautiful camera. The Coral lens is well-known for having very amazing bokeh. I'll try to dig out a Tri-X photo taken with a Coral lens so you can see what I'm talking about. There is a mark on the front element that I can't seem to photograph. I'm not sure what it is. I think it's a cleaning mark or a rub. It's really tiny and doesn't seem to have any sort of scratch to it. There is also a subtle dent on the back top left - left of the viewfinder. So this isn't a perfect camera. But it was expertly CLA'd and was working recently and is pretty cool. This is sold as-is because I can't control what you do to it once you get it.
