It comes standard with a 256x192, 12m high sensitivity thermal detector that can easily identify man-sized sources of heat in poor environmental conditions such as fog, smoke, dust, rain, and snow. These heat signatures are projected onto a 0.39-inch 1024x768 resolution monitor, and are viewable in four different palettes: white hot, black hot, red hot, and fusion. White hot displays sources of heat as white silhouettes over a predominantly black background, while black hot shows sources of heat as black silhouettes over a predominantly white background. Red hot displays heat signatures as red: the higher the temperature, the redder the image. Fusion uses multiple colors to display temperature variations white shows the hottest part of the image and purple shows the coolest, with yellow, red, and pink in between.
