Description: Adorable antique 13" Morimura Bros Japanese Character Baby Boy Doll ~ (little tlc) ~This sweet baby boy is in very good condition, especially considering how old he is! (Please continue reading below for specific issues.) Morimura Brothers made dolls from 1915-1926, I'm not completely sure what specific year he was born. He/she is a Japanese bisque head character baby with a composition body. The head turns, and the wrists are jointed so that the hands can be turned in different directions! His face is handpainted and in fine condition. His lashes and brows are finely brushed & wispy. His cheeks have a rosy blush, and he has tiny dimples! He also has a big sweet smile with pearly white teeth. His big blue glass eyes are weighted, they open & close properly. I'm not certain if this is his original wig or not, there is no pate. His head will have tissue inside for safe shipping. I don't know if this his original outfit, the tag says "Made in Japan". The undershirt does look to be original. The long sleeved shirt and overalls need a wash. He has the Morimura Brothers incised mark with a 2 over a circle around MB, over Japan, over 3. He doesn't have many issues. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE ISSUES I FIND: On the upper right part of the body, right at the neck, there's a spot where it looks as if the composition has chipped. Upon looking online at pics of this doll, I see the same thing, same area in these dolls. I'm wondering if it was in the manufacturing process. The paint on his eyelids has some scratches, seen only when eyes are closed. I'm not sure they close completely~ plz see pics. The little jumper he is wearing has obviously faded onto the composition. I don't know if this can be fixed or not. None is showing if he's dressed. He has some scuff marks here and there, a few on back of his arm. Not sure if these can be buffed out or not. His body is mostly in very good condition. He and his outfit could use a little wash.
