Description: Up for auction is a Very Rare, First Book Club Edition, (BCE), of A Tree Grows In Brooklyn and Maggie-Now by Betty Smith. This particular edition is the FIRST time these two beloved titles were combined in one volume!! First BCE Editions of this title are Scarce and becoming increasingly Hard to Find!! The correct gutter code of "36G" is present!! Hardcover with its original dust jacket.Published by Harper & Row.While "1947" is the latest date listed, this copy was published/released sometime after that date. With drawings by Richard Bergere. A First American Book Club Edition, (BCE).Both book are present in this one volume. While we assume it goes without saying, please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of either of these titles! This is a First BCE, essentially an early reprint of both books. What makes this copy particularly significant is that it is the FIRST time both of these books have been published in one, single volume. Once again, we want to reiterate that this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing of either of these books. This rare treasure has some clearly visible wear, but is still in lovely, Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no foxing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris.The binding feels a bit loose/shaky, but is still holding tight and the pages are surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/wear to the spine/corners/boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/wear to some of the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the creases/wear to the spine/corners/boards, most noticeable on the spine and near/along the edges and the marks/wear to the edge/fore pages, most noticeable on the colored top edge pages. While not terribly egregious, the wear is still clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.The original dust jacket is fully intact but has some very clearly visible wear! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, marks and rips resulting in some loss of paper. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear.Once again, the wear to both the book and especially the dust jacket is VERY clearly visible! The wear to both the book and particularly the dust jacket should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying.Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection.Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!!Following the conclusion of the auction, payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed.Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can buy with confidence! Thank you!!
