Description: A QUIET PLACE, 3 Sheet Poster, Locust Street Theatre, Tryout, Philadelphia, 1955. The Julian Claman play opened it's pre-Broadway tryout in New Haven, CT on 11/23/55 and closed in Washington, DC on 12/31/55 without ever opening in NYC. The play actually closed BEFORE playing it's scheduled stop in Philadelphia. The cast includes Tyrone Power, Leora Dana, Halliwell Hobbs and Susan Kohner. Directed by Delbert Mann. The photo was taken standing on a step ladder, hence the slanted appearance, but the poster is rectangular. Some of the posters have minor tears or short creases in the folds which have been repaired on the back with thin archive tape. Condition is fair with extensive wear including tears repaired with thin archive tape and some small pieces missing. 3 Sheet Posters are advertising theatre posters printed on heavy paper and usually come folded in more than one section like old billboards -- hence the name. Commonly displayed in subway stations and most famously in areas like Shubert Alley in Manhattan's Theatre District. This is NOT a reproduction!! CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. IMAGES: I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
