Description: REISSUE OF ONE OF THE OF THE MOST SOUGH-AFTER AND INFLUENTIAL DETROIT DANCE RECORDS FROM THE EARLY 80'S. A Number Of Names' "Sharevari" is one of those classic dance records that ends up on everyone's list eventually, yet is frustratingly tough to find on OG press. Originally recorded back in 1981 at the crossroads of disco, new wave, house, and techno - the track fused lo-fi drums, sinister synths, and raw vocals to create a unique and freaky vibe unlike anything else at the time. As the story goes, "Sharevari" is a song about the stylish, forward-thinking Detroit club scene, specifically a club called Charivari (named after a New York clothing store), that laid the groundwork for the techno revolution to come. See the video below for a glimpse into this scene. The track still kills it to this day, and always manages to bring all the real freaks out on the floor! Includes the original vocal version with the instrumental on the flip. Essential. Capriccio Records /// P-928 Soundclips available at EARCAVE online.
