Turland was a prolific painter of landscapes, mostly around the Northamptonshire counties of central England, working in watercolours but also in oils. Trained in the Northamptonshire School, Turland collaborated with painters George Herbert Buckingham Holland (1901 – 1987) and Ralph Hartley (1926 – 1988).
