Description: Here we have a very-vintage dessert service for 8 in the Hathaway pattern from Black Knight (Bavaria.) Includes an extremely rare 12" handled cake serving plate as well as 8 eight-inch dessert plates, for a total of 9 pieces. We did our research on the cake plate, and we couldn't find one anywhere. It has considerably gold loss but is otherwise in excellent condition. Seven of the eight dessert plates are in minty, as-new condition, with not even a single scratch on them. The eighth plate, unfortunately, has a tight spider crack. See condition report below for details. We have many antique, vintage, and contemporary porcelain pieces in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. If the eBay checkout fails to properly combine your orders, we will issue a refund for the difference between what you paid to ship items separately and the actual cost of the combined shipping, on the day that we ship your package. (We don't find out the actual cost of combined shipping until we purchase the shipping label.) Approximate measurements: Cake plate: 12" diameter (including handles); Dessert plates: 8 1/8" diameter Condition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. Very fresh and clean pieces. Handled cake plate has a good deal of gold loss, but is otherwise in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, crazing, stains, or silver/gray utensil marks. Scattered very light, completely colorless, scratches to the glaze. Seven of the dessert plates are in remarkable for their age, minty condition. We use the term Minty, not Mint, to distinguish between something that we know has been used even though it shows no signs of use (Minty) and something that we know is brand new and unused (Mint.) The eighth dessert plate suffered a mishap, but is still usable. (Put it at the bottom of the stack, and use it to serve yourself last, and no one will be the wiser.) It has a spider crack in the center that is very stable--it is stained but cannot be felt from either side (although it can be seen from both sides.) It also has a teeny-tiny fleabite on the rim that is very hard to see. If you collect this set, you're not going to want to let the handled cake plate slip away--it may be the only one you ever see. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us. The Fine Print: We expect payment within 1 day of purchase. If you're waiting for other auctions to end so that you can combine shipping, shoot us a message to let us know.If you're unable to pay within terms, please reach out with your Plan B. Things happen. Especially these days. So just shoot us a message. We don't accept buyer-remorse returns but we will grant you the use of our description and photos so that you can re-ebay the item yourself.Although we don't accept buyer-remorse returns, reach out if you're unhappy with your purchase! If we messed up -- everybody does -- give us a chance to fix it. We promise it was unintentional, and we'll do what we can to make it right.
