Other inert rounds will use cheap polymer plugs that will "stick" your firing pin or nothing at all allowing your firing pin to slam forward without any shock absorption. The blue tip rounds are easy to see as inert for training. In addition, they will glow for 30-45 minutes to enhance safety during low light training (require a few minutes under a bright light prior to use*).
