The year c. 102 BCE given on the NGC holder reflects the year assigned by Crawford, corrected to 99 BCE by Liv Mariah Yarrow in her recent book, "The Roman Republic to 49 BCE Using Coins as Sources" (Cambridge University Press, 2021). Yarrow discusses the RRC 322 coin series in her work: "C. Fabius Hadrianus was an avowed Marian who held Africa against the Sullan forces as praetor and propraetor until his death during the Utican revolt [in 81 BCE]. In 99 BCE, his choice of Cybele and Victory as coin types probably connects with a prophecy foretelling Marius' successes against the Cimbri and Teutones... In 99 BCE, the likely year of this coin, Marius was traveling east ostensibly to fulfill his vow to the Magna Mater by performing sacrifices at her cult center" (Yarrow 2021, p. 145). Yarrow goes on to note that the RRC 322 series represents the first appearance of Cybele (the "Magna Mater") on a Roman coin (loc. cit.). The Roman Republican Coinage catalogue designation for this coin is Crawford RRC 322/1b. The item pictured is the exact item which will be received.
