Description: This 8.75" Majolica plate from Wedgwood is an antique piece produced before 1890, It has a beautiful dark green glaze with a grapevine pattern. Made in England but note that it is not impressed so on the bottom. That is because it was made before the country of origin was required to put on items which happened in 1890's. I don't see any flaws or cracks except for some spots of lighter color on the rim from glaze misses from when it was made. What does concern me is what I don't see. I gave the edge a thump with my finger, and it did not ring like I thought it should, usually this means a hairline crack, but I was not able to find one, so I am not sure if there is one or not. Granted the plated is close to at least 150 years old.
