75th Infantry Division White Back Patch WWII Vintage Europe France Germany

Description: The Patch: This Auction is for 1 WWII Vintage 75th Infantry Division Shoulder patch with a white back. This patch is in good condition. It has a very nice white backing. This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic. The History: The 75th Infantry Division was activated on April 15, 1943 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The division participated in the 1944 Louisiana maneuvers before embarking for the European Theater in November of 1944. They arrived in Europe on December 13, 1944 and were in France when the Ardennes offensive began. They saw their first combat with the First Army along the Ourthe River on December 23rd. By January the 75th had fought across the Bulge and had relieved the 82nd Airborne Division along the Salm River. On January 17, the division was shifted to the Seventh Army and was given the task of driving the Germans out of Alsace-Lorraine region. They crossed the Colmar Canal in February and helped reduce German forces trapped in the Colmar Pocket. They were transferred to the Ninth Army where they patrolled along the Rhine River. They crossed the Rhine on March 24th as part of Operation Plunder. Once across the Rhine, the 75th helped form and later reduce the Ruhr Pocket. The division was then moved to Arnesburg, where they stayed until the war ended.Please read my auction requirements. I have changed them based upon feedback and ratings received.
