Description: ~~ 1968 Republication Convention NBC News Broadcasters Photo Clippings & Autographs ~~ This is a vintage scrapbook page which features a sheet of paper with 7 NBC News reporters/anchors autographs from the 1968 Republican Convention. The names on the autograph page include:David BrinkleyChet HuntleyEdwin NewmanSander VanocerFrank McGeeFrank BlairNancy DickersonChet Huntley (1911-1974) and David Brinkley (1920-2003) headed up the award winning "Huntly-Brinkley Report" from 1956 to 1970. Sander Vanocer (1928 - 2019) was White House correspondent and national political correspondent for NBC in the 1960's and early 70's. He was describer as "one of the country's most prominent political reporters during the 1960's." Frank McGee (1921-1974) was a television journalist best known for his work with NBC from the late 1950's to the early 1970's. Edwin Newman (1919-2010) was a newscaster who had a 23-year career in television news with NBC. He was also a journalist and author and has several film credits where he played the role of himself. Nancy Dickerson (1927-1997) was a radio and television journalist. She was the first female correspondent for CBS, and was a researcher for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. She reported for NBC News from 1963 to 1970 where she covered pivotal stories such as political conventions, election campaigns, inaugurations, Capitol Hill, and the White House. CONDITION: The autograph page and the clippings are taped to a black scrapbook page. There are wrinkles and creases in the page. There is a small tear at the edge of one piece of tape on one of the clippings (see photo). The autograph page is generally in good condition. The tape at the top and bottom of the page has some yellowing, and it has some of the creases in it. There is a thin, pale line of pink/red ink on the page. Please see the close-up scan of the autographs page. SIZE: The black page measures 8.5" x 11" and the autograph page measures 4" x 6.75".
