The reason is that it's a plain weave fiberglass fabric with a twist. This is no secret but most novice or inexperienced fiberglass users don't know that the style 7533 yarns are twisted before it is woven giving it its drapability and ease of use. Style 7533 tapes with the twisted yarns tends to wet out easier and is perfect when doing multiple layers and does not seem to fray as easily as other 6oz cloth. So you may see 6oz tape for sale elsewhere but most likely it will be a cheaper less desirable fiberglass cloth tape.
