Description: 1968-1970 Buick only 10 bolt 8.2 posi with 2.73 gears. This carrier will also accept 2.93 gears. This rearend is also nicknamed the 12/10 bolt because Buick used two different size carrier bearings or different bearing journal sizes. This carrier uses 7/16 left hand ring gear bolts. The carrier and gears were purchased from an 81 year old gentleman who had it boxed for 30 years. The side gear cones are not bottomed out and are in nice condition as shown in the picture. . No pinion gear galling from cross shafts either. I have been rebuilding differentials for 35 years and this would complete a nice concourse vehicle. The carrier was measured for remaining service life and was great. However, I've always machined an additional .020 of cone travel which extends the service life. The Borg warren posi bolts were locktie and torqued and is ready for assembly. Note, There are 4 carrier breaks. A MR. Gasket 908a can be used since the carrier pilot is tall and will eliminate ring gear run out. Although you MUST Use Old Stock spacers that is Blanchard. The new ring gear spacers are junk, period This could possibly get you to 3.23-3.42 or 3.64 and lower... I can explain and have old stock spacers. Please text me for more information. I recommend using Lucas gear oil and Auburn limited slip additive.
