Description: I believe these large 54mm or thereabouts heavy 6-banded field-artillery pieces are from the bloody English Civil War (1642-1651). They were made by "A Call to Arms"- one of the finest toy soldier manufacturer's of the last few decades, to accompany their Royalist vs Parliamentarians solider sets (check them out on my site). The English Civil War pitted the Parliamentarians, who supported Parliament and its ageless laws, against the Royalists, who sided with King Charles 1st (Royalists were also called Cavaliers), who believed he had divine right to rule England or any country he conquered. When it comes to authentic, full-chested, gloriously proportioned plastic soldiers from a certain era of time, you just don't get any better than the "A Call to Arms" sets. This cannon offering goes perfectly with the English Civil War soldier figures (both Royalists and Parliamentarians) I'm selling presently on Ebay in a separate listing (also made by "A Call to Arms"). This offering does not include the original box, which is no big deal if you're going to display them in a battle scene. I love these guns because they clearly look like the design used 100 years later, up to the American Revolution (if it ain't broke, don't fix it).
