Description: Also known as Dodecatheon meadia, the Shooting Star or American Cowslip is a type of species of Primrose. This plant has received the Award of Garden Merit (A.G.M.) from the Royal Horticultural Society. The pink flowers are shaped like little shuttlecocks. The name Dodecatheon means 'Flower of the Twelve Gods' and was thought to describe the clusters of twelve flowers on more mature plants. Easy to germinate and grow. These seeds germinate rapidly but might need a brief cooling period; If germination does not occur after 3–4 weeks it's recommended to provide a cooling period for 2–4 weeks either outdoors in colder weather or in a refrigerator.
