The kit contains 5 spike caps and the 5 required stainless steel socket head bolts to replace the existing stock round head bolts on stock harley derby covers. (simply replace one bolt at a time) The spikes are 1/2 inch in diameter at the base of the spike head, and extend .4 of an inch beyond the derby cover. The spikes are held on the bolts by an ABS plastic insert inside the base of the spikes (tap on). A drop or two of high-temp RTV silicone adhesive is recommended to ensure the stay on.
