Description: Presented is a wonderful set of four European silver candlesticks. These pieces date to around the 1850s, and are likely German or Austrian in origin. The silver is at least 813 purity. The base, the body, and the socle have acanthus leaf designs. These foliate designs are detailed and sharp, quite well done. The bobeches or wax drips are removable for ease of cleaning. The candlesticks are in good overall condition. The details of the designs are nice and crisp. There are two small solder repairs to the bases, which are hardly noticeable and not an issue for general display. Please refer to our photos for more details. Other than this there are no significant flaws. The candlesticks are hallmarked on the side of the base. Two are hallmarked with a 13 loth mark and 'Keller' which is presumably a maker's mark. The other two are hallmarked with a K and the 13 loth mark. Each candlestick is about 10 1/4 inches tall. The total weight for the set is 2300 grams. The candlesticks are weighted, so not all of this weight is silver. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
