Description: If you've every felt like you needed a magnet for your fingerprints then this high speed, premium and dare I say "RARE!" DDR1 kit is for you! Though the total capacity is only 512MB for a dual channel kit of two 256MB sticks, they come rated for a hard-to-find DDR500 speed at 2.5-4-4-7 timings. Plus they have very shiny, heavy copper heatsinks - allegedly "Platinum covered copper heatspreaders" in the specs I found, but I suspect it's something cheaper like nickel plating. Whatever it is it's very very shiny. They also feature a temperature reactive sticker, to help you monitor your ram temps. On my test setup the sticks defaulted to 400 2.5-4-4-7. The full rated speed of 500 2.5-4-4-7 will require manual configuration, and an FSB overclock. Memory like this was designed for overclockers to help them to hit higher FSB without worrying about the capability of their RAM. I tested on socket 939, but the kit is supposedly designed for Intel 865/875 chipset. The specs I found give a voltage range of 2.65V-2.95V, but on my A8N-SLI Deluxe they were stable at the default voltage of 2.6V. I suspect the underlying chips are Hynix of some sort, supposedly tested by Geil for 3.5ns (~DDR570) There is one small nick in one of the heatspreaders (see 8th picture). No original packaging, but will be very well protected in shipping - I know how irreplaceable a kit like this is! Perfect for a period correct system from the golden age of overclocking.
