With a standard 2A wall adapter (NOT the "adaptive fast charging" adapter) the charge rate is 15%-25% per hour in my test of a Note II, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5. A dead battery should charge to full in 3-6 hours. (different amperage power sources can make these results vary up or down) I've been doing this a long time and have found that most generic cables on eBay take 8-12 hours or more to complete a charge.
