Description: Up for sale, a 2012 Ibanez Prestige model RG2770Z in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case and hangtags. Produced from 2010-12, this upper-tiered Japanese-made Ibanez features a flame maple top, a trio of special design DiMarzio IBZ pickups, and an Edge-Zero tremolo system with a ZPS3 stabilizer. Tonewoods include a mahogany body, five-piece maple/walnut neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, delivering a balanced, warm acoustic platform. A triple pickup HSH affair with a five-way blade pickup selector, both the humbuckers featured on the RG2550Z are high-output models. The neck pickup is fairly bright-sounding, similar to a Super 2 (DP104). The bridge pickup has additional power and sonic breadth, resembling a cross between the Steve Morse Bridge Model (DP200) and the Super Distortion (DP100). The centrally located R1 single coil is richer-sounding than a typical vintage single coil, designed to work well with the humbuckers when coil-tapped (positions 2-4 on the switch). The guitar weighs 7lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation. The maple and walnut five-piece neck has Ibanez's Wizard HP Prestige shape, a very slender and fast-feeling D-shaped carve, measuring .740” deep at the 1st fret and .835” at the 12th. The 24-fret rosewood fretboard features small offset dot inlay, and the jumbo fretwire is practically perfect, with Ibanez's All Access Neck Joint (AANJ) offering exceptional access to the upper frets. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the Top Lok locking nut measures 43mm in width (1 11/16”). The headstock sports a matching flame maple veneer, and the Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The body has a simple and sleek control layout, with a five-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The Edge-Zero bridge with ZPS3 Zero Point System was designed by Ibanez to give the player the fast vibrato response and snap needed to pull off sharp bends and flutters. The extreme stability of this knife-edge-style trem's stud lock function is also one of the many reasons it's a favorite among many of today's top players. The cosmo black hardware exhibits surface patina, including the knobs, which have ridged rubber grips for easy on-the-fly adjustments and swells. The gloss Devil’s Shadow finish subtly reveals the tight figuring in the bookmatched flame maple top, with cosmetic wear limited to a couple minor dings on the top, a few small chips along the lower bout perimeter, and a scant few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth satin finish, with a trio of discolored marks on the maple that are imperceptible to the palm while fretting. The original Ibanez Prestige-branded molded hardshell case with Team J. Craft badge is included, along with the hangtags and owner’s manual.
