At that time is towards the beginning of the start of the XM18. That's why this has the CTS-XHP Stonewshed blade and the steel is etched on the blade. So they made one XM18 in a 3.5" Spanto blade for each person that signed up to do the training, and what they did was number each of the blades and for every knife, they made a un-sharpened trainer blade so they can practice with people with the actual knife and not worry about cutting them or yourself by accident. Each blade is made to fit the handle so there were two blades to make this one knife and you can easily swap out the blades. Rick has never done this before and probably never will again. You don't see these trainer knives for sale very often. This one is has been in my personal collection up to now. All of the Titanium parts of the handle are Stonewashed so you know it came directly from Hinderer this way. This will come with Hinderer Box and tactical peanuts. Smooth opening action, Early lockup, centered blade. This is a Super knife and one of my Favorites! Lots of people love the Stonewashed Finish because even if it is used, marks on the knife is hard to see which is on the blade so this is perfect.
