Description: This auction is for one America the Beautiful business strike five ounce .999 silver bullion Washington quarter dollar minted in 2010 celebrating Oregon state's Mount Hood National Park. I purchased this directly from the US Mint through one of their authorized distributors. It is in pristine mint condition with a slight tone having developed around the rim. See photos. This particular coin was struck following a refurbishing of the die by US Mint employees, and, in the right light, can exhibit some of the very fine striations embossed on the surfaces that usually follow such a procedure. Again, see photos, especially the last two. The coin shown is the coin you will receive. Priority Mail shipping is included at no additional cost. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. A short history of the 5 Oz ATB coins: The US Mint had a very difficult time with actually producing these coins after the concept of them was authorized. Having no press that could actually strike such a big coin, they initially borrowed one from a private mint. Then, turns out that die deterioration quickly became a big issue. Instead of getting millions, or even several thousands, of strikes per die pair, they were only getting a few hundred before the dies needed to be re-dressed. This constant re-polishing of the die surfaces left some very fine striations on nearly every business strike bullion coin minted. This same difficulty prevented the Mint from being able to produce their usual offering of proof coins for this series. In order to produce a collectible version of these large coins, they decided to vapor blast some of them - a new procedure that resulted in a matte-like or satin finish that hid most of these production imperfections. These latter coins were distributed at a premium directly by the mint rather than through their authorized distributors network. A word about Sales Tax: I do not charge any sort of sales tax or any other up-charges. eBay, however, might. Court rulings have determined that various taxing authorities can levy taxes on on-line purchases, even though the Buyer and the Seller might be in different States. To settle who gets this money, and to avoid potential double taxing by both States, "They" decided that the Buyer's State should get the booty. Consequently the Buyer's address determines if and how much sales tax gets levied. eBay, in an effort to stay in business and not lose all their sellers to them running afoul of taxing authorities, now automatically include any taxes thus owed. I, personally, have nothing to do with it or to say about, except to pay a fee (not part of the tax) for the taxes having been included on my invoice. Something we'll all have to live with now, I guess. It just keeps getting better, don't it? A Note to Buyers Outside the US: Import fees (including taxes and customs charges) may apply for the country the item is being sent to. These fees are usually based on the item's price, shipping weight, dimensions, and country of origin, plus any taxes, duties, and fees from the country the item is being sent to. Buyers are responsible for paying import fees, usually as part of clearing their parcel through customs or when they receive their item. These costs cannot be included in the item's purchase and shipping price. Through the eBay Global Shipping Program, eBay will inform the buyer about any import charges and these will be included in the order total at checkout. Try not to be too surprised when you find these additional charges. I have nothing to do with it and can’t begin to guess how much it might come to. If you purchase something from me and decide that you don’t want to pay these fees, simply ask me to cancel the transaction for you and I’ll do that. My Feedback Policy: EBay does not allow Sellers to leave neutral or negative feedback for Buyers as long as they have paid for their item - It doesn’t matter what they might subsequently do. On the other hand, Buyers have full use of the system. Because of some Buyers trying to use this advantage for improper gain, as a Seller I will wait to leave feedback until my Buyer lets me know that their item has arrived and they're happy with it. As a Buyer, I leave feedback as soon as my item arrives.
