Description: This is a 2003 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab, with the original black exterior color and grey/brown interior, equipped with the 3.4L V6, at times referred to as the 5VZ, and a 5spd manual transmission. The truck came standard with the SR5 package, which includes the transfer case to make the vehicle 4WD, and the TRD Off-Road package. I am the second owner, and acquired the vehicle almost 3 years ago at about 86,000 miles. The truck is now at about 115,300 miles, and has been my daily driver for the past few years. I have a a habit of buying multiple used cars, and since purchasing another recently, I have decided to put the Tacoma for sale despite not really wanting to. As described in the vehicle condition statement, the vehicle is in a mechanically strong condition, with a great deal of maintenance performed by myself and a local shop, such as the timing belt and water pump, front rotors and pads, valve cover gaskets, differential seal, transmission fluid flush, new clutch, power steering rack, pump, and lines, rear shocks, and a few other items along with regular synthetic oil changes every 5000 miles. The only notes mechanically are that the transfer case can be finicky and does not always activate 4WD, and the rear differential casing is showing age and may need eventual replacement due to rust, however a check by my local shops shows the inner workings of the differential are in good shape and working well. The rear license plate lights need to be changed, the front left daytime running light also needs to be changed. The underbody is in relatively good condition, with some areas of surface rust, and the frame is straight with no rusting through. The underbody has been treated with lanolin to prevent the spread of rust. Cosmetically is where the vehicle shows its age, with chips and scratches along the body, and paint deterioration on the hood and roof. Two spots to note are the drivers side rocker panel, which has been rusted through, however the rust has not moved to the main body of the truck, as lanolin as stopped the rusts spread. The area under the bed is not rusted through, with the aforementioned lanolin helping to stop deterioration, and can be a relatively easy fix with some welding. I also have a PPI done by Toyota of Princeton at about 107,000 miles, originally ordered by a former prospective buyer. This helps to show the truck to be in good running order. There are no mechanical modifications to the truck, with the only changes from stock being a shift knob, a new gas tank shield, and a standard lock placed on the truck bed hatch. Overall, this is a low mile, manual first gen Tacoma truck, and while it shows its almost 22 years of age, it is still running strong. With Tacoma's known to run for hundred of thousands of miles, this truck has good bones and can live up to its reputation. The price reflects my high opinion and work and care put into the truck, but I am willing to work on the price to accommodate for the eventual need of fixes for a relatively old vehicle.
