Description: XL Mylar Packet - Prairie Cinquefoil SeedsGold Vault Mylar Zip Packet Cinquefoil comes from the French for "five-leaved," since plants in this family often have groups of five leaves. The first botanical records of this plant can be found in botanist Frederick Pursh's 1814 publication of Flora Americae Septentrionale. Pursh, a German botanist who worked in America for many years, completed this significant work as a result of extensive research and travel throughout the frontier. The genus name "Potentilla" comes from a word meaning "powerful," referring to a common belief that this plant had medical benefits. The species name "arguta" means "sharp," because of the toothed edges of each leaf. Direct sow in late fall, pressing into the surface of the soil since this seed needs light to germinate. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination. This seed can also be started indoors 6-8 weeks before planting in the spring. These seeds are non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms), and are also free from all Neonicotinoids. They are packaged in our superb Gold Mylar Mylar Zip Packaging, which gives the seeds the best storage possible, and allows you to reseal the bag for later use. The artwork and labels on the packet are loaded with information - many people comment that it is the most beautiful packet that they have ever seen. If you have never tried out our seeds before, this is your chance to experience something special!
