This is from a batch of new-old-stock parts from Sheaffer when they moved. The cap fits the 2444 all stainless steel fountain pen as well as the 2440 series Imperial with the resin body. In fact I tried it on several different Sheaffer Imperial models from the 1960's to 1990's and it fit all of them. So while made for the 2444 or 2440 series, it should fit most any Imperial.
